AIS West Educator Earns High Honor

Avon Intermediate School West 5th Grade Teacher Alli Coulter earned the distinction of being named an IU Jacobs Educator.

Jacobs Educators are outstanding teachers from across Indiana and the U.S. who are at the cutting edge of integrating technology and teaching computer science to K-12 teachers and students.

"I know how hard all teachers work and truly believe there should be more opportunities to award teachers for the amazing things they do every day," said Coulter. "I’m incredibly honored to have the chance to be a Jacobs Educator and look forward to continuing to work with IU faculty, other honorees, and pre-service teachers."

AIS West Principal Amber Walters has a deep appreciation for Coulter, and believes she truly deserves the award. "The teaching and learning that occurs in Alli’s classroom each day is one of a kind. She takes pride in the work she does with her students as she integrates technology throughout her day. Alli makes learning relevant to ensure her learners have a sense of belonging.
